Poor Common Sense: Can It Attract Sympathy?

What in blue blazes was a Montreal Canadiens fan doing in BOSTON - when the game took place back in Montreal? Granted you can be a fan of any team you want, no matter what your geographical situation is, as I am the opposite of the misguided geek in question... (A Boston fan in enemy territory, for those of you who can't figure it out!)

Was he "left behind" when the Habs and their flock of rowdy, class-less, rambuctious fans "ascended" back to Morontown aka Montreal?

It is possible that he was indeed a Bostonian who is simply so wayward that he roots for what is, clearly, the bad guy - that can happen, even in the best families, you know...

Unfortunately for him, he chose the wrongest day, time and place (Causeway Street) to parade around while wearing his colors - and paid the price for all the brutish oafish Canadiens fans who had invaded the TD Bank Garden just last Saturday night, when the Boston Bruins scored a succession of spectacular goals in the third period to take the game and stave off elimination - positioning themselves in a plausible way to eliminate the Montreal arch-rival again, as they did most years during Cam Neely's playing time (all but one, in fact.)

While Habs fans didn't hesitate to shove and spit at Boston fans on the streets of Montreal, two frustrated B's fans lost their heads when they saw a Habs jersey - and let him have it. Big time too. The attack was brutal, reports say, and the Canadien kid is lucky to be ALIVE. (Well, FITTING, really - so are the Montreal Canadiens EXTREMELY LUCKY to be alive in the playoffs still...! But I digress...)

To think that this misguided geeky kid could have had NO PROBLEMS AT ALL - if he had stayed home, watched the game, rejoiced in private if he so thinks that it truly is fit to do so when the unworthy, overrated, "dumb-lucky" team steals victory in a best-of-7 series yet again... In brief, he could have played it low profile and would have avoided aaaaaaaaall the discomfort he is feeling now, in a Boston hospital, if he had remained, basically, a CLOSETED CANADIENS FAN stuck in a superior sprawling city!
For, no matter what they say in this day and age of political correctness, closets are NOT just for brooms - no!

And, since they came up in the "convo" here, may there NEVER again be any talk of "sweeps" and "brooms" when the Bruins are concerned, Canadiens fans! The Boston Bruins proved that they were as much the contenders that you are; and if we can't sweep you (although we did do it, as recently as 1992!) you shouldn't proclaim you will us, not even after 13 spaced-out games of absurd luck against us... capisce?

Ah, and in closing - the city of Boston is indeed your superior in every way, Montreal; Boston is superior culturally, historically, geographically, esthetically, economically, technologically - you name it! They have four major sports franchises (and others to boot) to your single last one left: the Habs. You've always been envious of Boston and admit defeat to anyone else EXCEPT Boston. The only other town you felt this visceral hatred for and obvious envy about was your closest rival geographically (and truly of "your level" - which is low) - Québec! You envied Quebec City's better looks (I mean, only chunks of Old Montreal come close - and it's basically just ONE STREET!) and greater and more significant history - the works! It is very bad manners to be so envious; very much like the riff-raff, yes. In Boston you found that there are at least two individuals who repaid you in kind - I guess the poor kid who had to pay for ALL the riff-raff (that which turns sporting events into riots) was simply "at the wrong place at the wrong time" indeed.

Massachusetts upholds the Blue Law...?

No - nothing about the "Blue Movie industry" here... *lol*
And if you think it is archaic to refer to said industry with that out-of-fashion appellation... well, what of the state of Massachusetts keeping stores closed by enforcing a law that dates back to the 1600s?
Questions of right and wrong are timeless, of course - but here we are not dealing with absolutes; simply with the dilemma store owners face on Thanksgiving Day; should I open or stay closed? More on that lunacy - in the comments section!
