Mac 'N' Nude Day!

Richard Benjamin famously said it:
in the introduction to his most-forgettable film
"Saturday The 14th" (which co-starred his better half,
Paula Prentiss - and both stopped acting afterwards.)
as his voice is heard, off-camera, stating this simple fact -
"things get bad on Friday The 13th
but they get rrreally bad on Saturday The 14th!"
(we merely paraphrase here...!)

Well, on this year of Our Lord 2018
~in the hot month of JULY, yes~
within the misbegotten USofA,
Saturday The 14th is, also,
(on top of being "the day after the 13th")
two very incompatible things:

AND
NATIONAL
NUDE
DAY!

... okay, it might have been
*international* really...!?

NOT to be confused with
nor any
habits...
(really... FB!!!)

anyway!

...every day is "naked day" for most of us...
and even more so for some in particular...
hmm?

...it has been this way for a long, loooong time now...

...like, you can't shower with your clothes on now ~ can ya?

or rather DON'T.

Er... That's one way to participate...?!?
Don't get us started on PLASTICS again, though...!!!

But really now...
That is mighty unwise
to have those two, er,
"holidays"
coincide like that...!!!
 IT IS NOT SAFE
to eat your macaroni 'n' cheese
HOT FROM THE STOVE
when you have no clothes on!!!
FOOLS!

  YOU MIGHT BURN YOURSELF...
  LIKE... ALL OVER!!!

Ew ~ yeah, like, that's supposed to be reassuring?

... yeah, and then the boyfriend (or the girlfriend - meh)
might take this as a clear hint to do as that ol' band from the 70s
used to suggest everyone does, in their lone hit that time forgot:

... just to make it all better - eh?

Aww - they did it for the kiddies!

Seems to be a case of life imitating art for Hugh Grant - he liked it so much to have his on-screen wife do this to him (for the fun of it though and not for any kiddies charity) in his lone Polanski film, BITTER MOON... that he had to let "aunt Jemina" here go ahead and not only humiliate him but spend his money in the same lurid process too! Two jaybirds with one stone...
Aww - but it is all for a good cause here!
Plus, Hugh did not want to face the wrath of Khan if he had prohibited her from going ahead with this, I'm sure...!
As for Kate Moss -and ''TQS.ca'' reporting this bit of ''news'' when news is all they're supposed to really have going for them, ratings-wise, supposedly- well... this may be the start of a trend, in both cases, I think!

Confusing Franchises At The Box Office

George Lucas was recently quoted saying "(...) obviously, fans would love to see a movie about Darth Vader running around killing people..."
Hmm... that would actually be... The Terminator!
And I thought only fans were prone to not confuse but mix and match film franchises whenever they make their contribution to the overall gross gross (that is no redundance nor typo) at the box office for any single one of them... If only in their wishful thinking... perhaps?!?

I used to DREAM (lo, many long years ago, when I was but a pre-pubescent, idealistic, naive, sweet innocent child who just LOVED movies) of the ULTIMATE SCI-FI ACTION THRILLER! Without taking into account the kind of nightmarish budget it would take to make such a film... of course!

In it, TERMINATORS, PREDATORS AND ALIENS attack both the Federation and the Empire (Star Trek and Star Wars - united in fighting a common threat! How diabolical was I for such an idealistic, naive, sweet innocent child - HUH?)
Cameos by Flash Gordon, Superman, John Carter Warlord of Mars, Tarzan, Ripley, Barbarella and Vampirella would be allowed - after all, against such a tri-fold onslaught, ANYONE WOULD WELCOME THE HELP!

I didn't stop to think, as a kiddo, at the implications of such an unholy alliance between the Federation and the Empire. Then again, they say that the truth comes out of the children's mouths - and is it really so different from the Federation's tolerance of the very much barbaric Klingons ("Huns in Space", I always called them) to see it tolerate the evil Empire? Besides, such an unholy alliance would make Luke Skywalker and Han Solo want to kick all of Starfleet's butt - and that is just too "sweeeet"! It is a key element of all good crossovers: the heroes must be coaxed into fighting each other - as a preliminary bout, at the very least! It does not have to be a conclusive thing with a decisive winner - however, my money would be on the Jedi against the Vulcan; and on Solo against Kirk! But that's just me... ;)

Some surprises could be thrown into the mix too; after all, Mel Brooks did it, in Spaceballs! So, the final battle would come crashing onto the PLANET OF THE APES... decimating it! In outer space, Transformers and even the eclectic cast of several forgotten and simply under-appreciated gems such as the film Black Hole, the TV shows Buck Rogers, Lost In Space and Land of the Giants and even the unforgettable Ultraman could show up!
And while we're at it, let's throw in Gojira, King Kong, Goldorak, the Gerry Anderson shows (both live action and of masterful puppetry...!) and the Battle of the Planets toon!

Hey - CGI can do it all - right?

I will not even begin to calculate what kind of a budget it would take to make this all fit into a 120-minute theatrical release... 90-minute? 80-minute? 75...?!?

As always, I would say "wait for the DVD release!" ;)
