Gee... I thought Gojira had successfully kept the population of Hong Kong in check... Or is it Tokyo he focused all of his fiery attention on? I never know for sure - when I watch that trivial fare, I am too distracted by the highly unrealistic rubbery substance of combatants such as Mothra, Githra and Gojira himself to pay attention to anything else... Is there anything else to pay attention to in these films anyway? But I digress...
Hence, the populations of Asia are still growing (1,3 BILLION people, officially, since last year) and thus China's draconian (and orwellian) "ONE-CHILD PER FAMILY" policy is trying to keep those figures in check... For as long as possible! It is not working though... Worse yet, the ONE CHILD that is begotten per couple is spoiled to death! That does not bode well for the future one bit...
China is spawning a whole generation of spoiled brats - what can that mean for the future, folks? A whole lot of possible scenarios are likely here, of course... Asians already have that execrable condescending attitude towards westerner caucasians - sort of like what southern white trash thinks of "negroes" (I am from the Northeast, by the way!)
Haughty Chinese who were brought up thinking that they are entitled to have anything they want WHEN they want it because they were, each and every single one of them, AN ONLY CHILD... An only child who usually does get everything he or she wants from the daddy and the mommy - and in spades too! THESE are the future company heads and political leaders of China - the country that holds all the cards -economically-speaking- in the world right now? Say it isn't so, Charlie Chan! And knowing how efficiency, dynamism and youth is preferred in Asian-land (Fantasia-land?) these pampered pipsqueaks will get to the top by the time they reach twenty years of age - OR LESS!
Hmm... who predicted a showdown between Iran & China VERSUS the USA for the APOCALYPTIC ARMAGEDDON MAIN EVENT again...? Might not be so improbable after all - I can see a nation of religious extremists find many affinities with a nation of pampered "little emperors" who view themselves as "superior and entitled" for they were, after all, UNIQUE... If nothing else, they will have their hatred of the States in common! Too bad for the guy who predicted that the antichrist would come out of Syria... Too bad for the author of The Omen too... Too bad for the co-authors of Left Behind - all of you guys are upstaged by that little something that is stranger than fiction... called REALITY!

I agree. Also note: the one child is usually a boy, so with every family having a boy, and most families not having girls, the population will eventually be unable to reproduce and inevitably die out. it's a lose lose situation for the asian population
Guess what article prompted my biting opinionated, sardonic editorial-like mini-essay here...?
Huh?
Hmm?
You'll never guess...
Oops - you did?
You clicked on the link I left, hidden though it is... You cheated!
Here's the source article hence - my inspiration...
Throw another Barbie on "the shrimp"
Thu Jul 6, 7:34 AM ET
BEIJING (Reuters) - A Chinese man bought two dozen Barbie dolls to keep his whining eight-year-old daughter quiet, but it only meant howls of protest from his wife instead, Xinhua news agency said Thursday.
"The man was so desperate to please his daughter he spent 5,000 yuan ($625) on 10 school bags and 20 Barbie dolls," the agency said, quoting a Beijing newspaper.
"The father's shopping sprees ended up frightening his daughter who stopped making gift demands but the wasted money angered his wife who threatened to divorce him."
Xinhua did not say where the family lived.
Pampered offspring, the result of China's one-child policy and known as Little Emperors, are expected to underpin a domestic consumption boom in the next decade.
The one-child policy was introduced in 1977 to manage a population that officially hit 1.3 billion last year.
The Barbie doll story ends happily -- the man's mother-in-law had the bags and dolls sent back and the shop refunded all the money.
