Now THIS is the apex of lunacy... scaled down to 7 inches

...

If you rush to the link provided, maybe, just MAYBE you will be on time to place your own bid for this "hot collectible" from the bizarre here...

Kurt Cobain (Nirvana) 'Unplugged' 7-Inch Action Figure

The icon of modern rock is immortalized once again as an action figure. This second action figure is based on his appearance in the 1993 MTV Unplugged special. Cobain comes with his acoustic guitar, a chair, microphone, and music stand. Expertly sculpted and highly detailed, this figure is a must-have for Cobain and Nirvana fans!

Must have been the Toddster again - who else would've thought it to be a must-have collector's item than to own the scaled-down to size statue of a dead, destined to be the perennial poster child for depression, grunge rockstar who might have taken his own life - or might have been murdered... Either way, he's still a "modern martyr" for the rebels without any kind of cause at all - and, as such, he is surely meritorious of this immortalization - right?

I never thought much of the idea of having action figures made out of musicians - it was abysmal to have mini-statues of the New Kids On The Block years ago (are those collectors' items now - or mere testaments to this culture's folly? I think the latter to be the more astute call top make...)
I saw the Toddster's "KISS set" - all four members of Kiss, in full regalia, with three women in similar make-up at their feet...!
This is not only sexist crap - it is cheap idolatry! The ratio of 3 women to 4 men is not even original either: it was lifted from the WCW's 1990s Horsemen who had three valets (Debra, the late Elizabeth Houlette and "Woman"...)
I wondered "when will they make... say... a GENESIS set then?
Aren't there collectors out there who NEED some tiny statue of a balding scrawny Phil Collins, a lanky Mike Rutherford and a stoic Tony Banks?!?
Heck - make it a "BATTLE OF THE BANDS SET" - Toddster!
(OMG - here I am pitching ideas to him, on one of my blogs!)
Yeah - I can see it now; "the GENESIS VS RUSH playset"
Both were 3-member bands at that very same time (early 90s) - hence it is a natural that, I am sure, was on many people's minds - just never quite like this! Geddy Lee versus Phil Collins, in a battle of the singing voices, maybe - but in a physical battle or in a contest to decide which one got the best action figure made out of him...? Can't wait to see that, folks!

The preceding was all sarcasm, of course.
It is not obvious right away to everyone...

I always scathed these odd ideas for toys that aren't toys - borderline idolatry disguising itself as "collector's mentality" - and the wasteful tendencies that stem from all that (materials, ressources, effort, talent and craftsmanship that would be put to far better use on anything else, almost... Hmm - maybe war really is a good thing! Alas, Dubya did not catalyze ALL ressources into the "war effort" as Roosevelt did, back then! Maybe Hillary will?!? *LOL*)

"Cobain - The Collectible" is just in plain poor taste.
